Ordonnance du Roi, portant création d'une Légion pour l'île de Saint-Domingue. Du 1er. avril 1766.

Paris, De l'Imprimerie royale, 1766.

4°, 16 pp.

Royal ordinance issued under Louis XV re-establishing a colonial legion in Saint-Domingue, composed of 54 companies of 100 men each (c. 5,400 troops), intended for local defence and internal security; the corps had first been created on 15 January 1765 and suppressed in September of the same year, making this text a restoration within the context of post–Seven Years' War colonial military reforms, before being definitively dissolved again in 1771.

Condition: some minor stains, otherwise good.
