Later overlapping marbled stiff paper wrappers, endpapers watermark dated 1885.

Dyeing manual by the Arts and Crafts Society of Genua (Società Patria delle Arti e Manifatture di Genova), based on the first scientific treatise on dyeing by Henrik Theophilus Scheffer, titled Chemiske föreläsningar, rörande salter, jordarter, vatten, fetmor, metaller och färgning (1775, edited by Torbern Bergman). Also included is a treatise on the colour blue, by Johann Philipp Vogler. At the end a four-page list is added with the names of the members of the Soeciety. This addition lacks in the other copies that we traced (a.o. Cole Collection of Chemistry, University of Wisconsin-Madison). The work is divided per colour and gives elaborate information about the characteristics and instructions on how to make each colour.
